  • 2 packages mixed salad greens
  • 1 (11 ounce) can mandarin oranges, drained
  • 1 pint strawberries, quartered
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinaigrette

French Chocolate Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup raisins, dark or golden I left the raisins out.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons water Out with the raisins.
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons dark rum I don’t even have any dark rum…
  • 6 ounces bittersweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 sticks (12 tablespoons; 6 ounces) unsalted butter, at room temperature and cut into 12 pieces
  • 3 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 cup sugar yields 16 brownies

Grand Marnier French Toast with Berry Compote Recipe

Compote Ingredients:

  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup spiced rum
  • 2 tbsps cornstarch
  • 2 tbsps water
  • 6 mixed mixed fresh berries or thawed frozen mixed berries
  • French Toast:
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tbsps Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur
  • 1 1/2 tsps vanilla extract
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 8 1-inch slices of challah, brioche or other egg bread
  • butter
  • confectioner’s sugar for garnish

  • 1 ½ Tbsp. coarse Kosher salt
  • 1 ½ Tbsp. active yeast
  • 2 Tbsp. honey
  • 6 ½ – 7 cups white, unbleached flour, additional for dusting
  • Cornmeal for dusting
