Fried Tomato’s Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 3 firm almost ripe tomatoes
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 cup of bread crumbs ( I like to use the Italian bread crumbs)
  • ¼ cup of butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation:

Slice the tomatoes into ½ round slices. Mix the egg and milk. Moisten the tomatoes slice in the liquid mixture. Then coat with bread crumbs. Melt the butter in a skillet and fry the tomato slices. They need to be brown on both sides and you need to turn the tomato only once while frying. Season with salt and pepper, you may not even have to if you use the Italian bread crumbs.

We had a large garden when I was growing up. I may have hated the work it took to keep a good garden but I did love the meals we made from the bounty. Fried tomatoes was one of my favorites and here is a good fried tomato recipe.
